Only 300. The EW01 was never meant to be a commercial product made in endless numbers. It was conceived as a work of art: an idea given form, made slowly and in a quantity small enough that every piece still matters. Each one carries its own number on the case-back, a quiet record that it belongs to a single, finite edition. When the 300 are gone, this chapter closes.
The hours orbit with the armillary and are read at the apex of the dial. The minutes travel the retrograde arc along the top, from 00 to 60, then return to begin again. It takes a day to learn, and a lifetime to stop noticing.
An ancient astronomical instrument made of rings that model the movements of the heavens. Philosophers and astronomers in Greece and China used them to understand our place in the cosmos. The EW01 brings one to the wrist. The world’s first miniature armillary on the wrist.
At its heart is a proprietary complication, designed for the EW01 alone, that turns a three-axis titanium armillary while the minutes travel a separate retrograde arc. It is part sculpture, part instrument, and unlike anything else you can wear.
A Japanese automatic calibre, the Miyota 8215, redesigned to carry our custom complication. It was chosen it for its proven reliability in the watchmaking world, so all the invention could go into what sits above it.
No. It’s an automatic mechanical watch, powered by the movement of your wrist, and you can also wind it by hand through the crown.
It keeps running for about 42 hours off the wrist. After that, simply wind it by hand and set the time.
Yes. It’s cut from natural aventurine, not glass. The starfield of mineral flecks on your dial is unique to your watch.
Yes elements of the watch is finished in real 18k rose gold.
Yes. A custom black lume, developed for the EW01, stays almost invisible by day and glows in the dark.
“Per Aspera Ad Astra”, Latin for “through hardship, to the stars”, arcs across the dial. On the caseback, facing only you, is Nietzsche’s line: “You must have chaos within you to give birth to a dancing star.”
The EW01 is designed to be worn by anyone regardless of gender. The case is 42 mm across and 50 mm from lug to lug, with short, angled lugs that curve towards the wrist, so it sits closer and wears elegantly on the wrist as a beautiful sculptural statement piece.
It’s rated to 5 ATM (50 m), so it’s fine in rain, splashes and handwashing. We would advise not to swim or shower with it, especially on its leather strap.
Yes. The lugs are a standard 20 mm, so most 20 mm straps will fit. The attached strap comes with a quick strap swap tool. When using a third party strap, we recommend a watchmaker or a proper spring-bar tool to avoid scratching the case.
The EW01 was conceived by Melvin Poh, a philosopher and lifelong collector, who spent years sketching one idea: an armillary sphere you could wear. He developed it over two years with a master watchmaker based in Japan, solving the weight and engineering challenges that made a three-axis armillary so difficult to put on the wrist. At its heart is a Miyota calibre, a proven Japanese automatic movement, entirely redesigned to carry our proprietary complication. Each watch is then assembled, hand-regulated and individually inspected by the watch maker in a single limited run.
